Purpose of this page

PURPOSE OF THIS PAGE

TO COLLECT DATA TO DETERMINE THE CAUSES, TREATMENTS, BEST SUPPORT, AND BEST PHYSICIANS FOR SUFFERERS OF FIBROMYALGIA

In order to find a cure for a disease, the disease must be recognized by the medical community, its causes established, symptoms known, and then cured. If you are a sufferer of fibromyalgia or are related to or a care-giver of a sufferer, then please take time to complete this survey, submit a response that will be encouraging on the message board to all people, and e-mail us about whether or not you would be willing to become involved politically in submitting valid information about the need for political action to recognize the need of federal funding for medical research and for disability assistance.

After completing the survey, tell us what we forgot. This page will be updated. Contact your state and federal congressmen via the internet to push for recognition. Develop support groups in your areas on those days you feel good to help others feel good. Let us know about your groups so we can guide others to you.

BEFORE YOU GO TO THE CHAT ROOM

I have a new Message Board and Chat Room. I added a few other things. The guest book is still on this page as well as a "pass it on," but the message board and the chat room are at the end of the survey. I included everything they had to offer. Please put a little saying that you like at the end of the survey, also, as often as you want. Just enjoy as much as possible. As new things occur, I will add them on to keep this informative as well as fun. I also want to link to some very important articles. If there are other sites you want to have on the links, let me know them. Thanks for your input. I have tried several links to the e-mail politicians line, but none have connected yet. I will keep trying. If you need a password to enter the chat room, the new one is survey1 and the password is goforit...soooo go for it. Hope you win a prize.

BEFORE YOU TAKE THE SURVEY

Print it if you want, so if you get tired you will complete it and submit it. It is so important to complete it, or let someone help you with it.
Have in mind any childhood diseases you have had (when, type, meds taken, immediate after effects, doctor who treated it).
What happened that you think may have brought on the fibro: stressful situations, neck injuries, sports injuries, other infections just prior to being diagnosed, drug abuse, unprotected sex (I am not being nosy, but when you suffer from depression, the vision problems, and just want to die, doctors jump on these two things as though the sufferer caused the condition).
Have you had an MRI, metal tests? Who diagnosed the fibro? How long did it take? What doctors have you seen? Results?
What meds-prescriptions-have you used? Results? Herbals? Results? Other treatments—TENS, magnets, acupuncture, physical therapy, massages.
What foods have you experimented with? Results?
What psychological problems have you been “diagnosed” with? How were these treated? Who really helped you? What meds helped? Herbals?
What sleep problems have you had? What meds? What was most effective?
What types of exercises do you do? What is most effect? Routine?
Have you have surgery? Results? Doctor who helped?
If a clinic just for fibro patients exists, where is it? How would you construct time-wise and building-wise such a clinic? What would you expect and want?
